It’s time to say goodbye to boxed, packaged and processed foods as much as possible. These types of “foods” are usually filled with all kinds of artificial chemicals and sugar. It’s also time to start reading labels on your food. And I don’t mean the nutritional labels. I’m talking about the ingredients labels.
Take a look at The Great Pantry Clean-Out and learn what ingredients to be on the look out for. Remember that when you are reading labels the first one or two ingredients are the most prevalent in the product. So if sugar is the first or second ingredient, do yourself a favor and put it back on the shelf, or if it’s in your home, dispose of it now.
Some of you might be now asking yourself, “What will I eat?” Here are some ideas:
Fresh fruit – apples, grapes, strawberries, etc.
Fruit/vegetables with nut butter
Fresh vegetables with hummus
Olives (watch for preservatives)
Tortilla chips and salsa/guacamole (whole grain chips and fresh salsa/guac)
Dried fruit without added sugar
Freshly squeezed juices
